So I caught this program called Dog the Bountyhunter 2 on television for the first time today.

First thing that came to mind was "Is this for real?" The guy (and his 'team') look so much like, what I believe you Americans describe as a 'mall ninja' that I was sure it was a Spinal Tap style spoof.

But, appart from the hilarious apperance of the bounty hunters and a few humerous exchanges between 'Dog' and his wife, it wasn't funny, so I'm not so sure.

Secondly, if it is real, does he (and his 'team') have some sort of permit or license to do this? I know any citizen can arrest somebody but he seemed to have official agreements with the police and the suspects and so on. Also, the episode I saw was in Hawaii. I'm not sure if it's always in Hawaii but this one was at least. Anyway, they were walking around with mace and tazers. As far as I'm aware, Hawaii is basically a 'no issue' state for CCW so home come he can carry tazers and stuff?

Thirdly, where can I get a pair of those Oakley's with the built in earphone and mic? :neener:

The guy really is a bounty hunter. He was arrested a few months ago for going down to Mexico and "kidnapping" a fugitive. Not sure if anything has come of it yet.

Do a search here for "dog bounty hunter".
