I have found that most gun control advocates take the stance that guns are bad because they only see them used in evil ways. This makes it difficult for the average person to do a useful cost-benefit analysis of gun control. Arguments using constitutional rights or lots of statistics do not appeal to many people. This site http://www.claytoncramer.com/gundefenseblog/blogger.html collects news reports of incidents when guns have been used to protect law-abiding citizens from criminals. Such anecdotes are sometimes the easiest way to get a gun control advocate to start seeing guns as useful tools, and not a plague. What do y'all think of this site, and of attempting to change someone's mind?

Here is a good first example

From WXIA of January 25, 2008
Wheelchair-bound Man Shoots Attacker

A homeowner who is confined to a wheelchair shot and wounded a man who confronted him on his door step, Atlanta police told 11Alive News.

The homeowner was on his way out of his house on Flat Shoals Avenue Friday morning when he ran into a man at his door. The homeowner asked the man to leave, but the man started to assault the homeowner, authorities said.

During a struggle, the homeowner grabbed a gun and shot the attacker in the arm and chest.

The suspect was taken to the hospital. His condition was not known.

The homeowner was not injured

Wow thanks for the link! I honestly do not have any civilian life stories of gun related life saving (thank goodness) but I know many members do!
