No. I still have 19 long guns and 12 hand guns on my wish list, not including NFA stuff.

What I HAVE done is drink so much that the next day I was suddenly a believer in God and promised not to drink ever again if I lived through the hangover. I was out partying and drinknig booze again within two weeks.

Have you ever found yourself saying that? Have you ever pledged to get one last really nice rifle/pistol, and then you are “done” with your collection?

Ha ha, yep. So far, I have not been able to keep my promises to myself.

My wish list expands and contracts over time, but there's almost always something on it. Right now, I have 4 guns on the short term high priority list (0-2 years), 4 guns on the medium priority list (2-5 years), and 21 guns on the low priority list (5-20 years). This is addition to the "few" I have thus far. :)

Buying guns is like having malaria. There are meds which almost control it, and then when you think you are cured, you have another relapse.

I don't think there is a cure for "gunitis."

I am done. .... for a while. need to catch up on accessories.

I want an ACOG
carbide dies for .223
a whole bunch of different magazines.
A shoulder holster for a 8 &3/8ths inch model 29
More CCI stingers than I can carry in one trip
Better sights on the 1911
night sights on the SIG
M16 style iron sights for my Ruger 10/22
A long eye relief scope for my Winchester 1894
Much more brass , powder , primers and lead for the Dillon

.......

Then I want a Garand , an M1 carbine , a revolver chambered for 45acp , ...

Rinse , lather , repeat.

No 'last,' only 'next.'

That said, I do have friends who have so many guns, they completely forgot about a few. That may be too many.

I'm done. I bought 3 1911s in the past 4 months. I'm done. I swear I am.

I am actually consollidating to the exact ones I want. I found my favorite double stack auto in an FN9. I want to buy a Styer to try out then maybe after I find the perfect EBR I can relax and enjoy them more.

The last gun I buy will probably be the day before they put me in a box and shovel dirt on top. Face it, it's a lifestyle, not a hobby.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I said that...

Well, I wouldn't be able to buy a gun exactly, but probably some ammunition.

I really am not buying any more guns. I am going to invest instead in some reloading equipment.

Once I have the reloading equipment I need then I will resume buying guns. Besides, what good is ammo without a gun to shoot it all through. :)

If a man spends more time thinking about what he doesn't have, he will become restless and dis-satisied with what he already has.

If a man spends same amount of time thinking about what he already has, he will be satisfied and happy.

well, if it is the last gun you are going to buy, i am sorry to hear about your upcoming demise. just kidding. but that is about when you will quit. you might take a break for a while. everybody does. but you'll be back. one day you will wander aimlessly into an innocent enough looking hardware store, and way in the back, in a dimlly lit corner, will be your mistress, just waiting for you. calling out for you, wanting to be stroked and touched. go ahead, work the action, just one time, for old times sake. feel the lines, fondle the curves, how smooth she feels, the elegance of her cold deep blue skin. the smell of freshly applied gun oil, the short, smooth, crisp trigger. how many rounds, 4? 5? 6? that will be it, and you will fall off the wagon again. it's not your fault, its just a disease. no cure, just every once in a while, you HAVE to scratch that itch. and like any medicine, it is expensive, but necessary for your well being. now, wake up and smell the gunpowder. welcome back. it's a wonderful world. now go out and shoot !

Honestly, it takes baby steps.

To get out of the addiction, you have to take it one day at a time.

Each time you buy a gun, promise your wife:

"This is the last gun I'm going to buy today!"

Next time, you can say:

"This is the last gun I'm going to buy this week!"

Eventually you can say:

"This is the last gun I'm going to buy this year!"

Me? I'm been clean for 43 days now...

<nervous twitch>

... can't buy the Garand until my membership proof comes through...

I'm pretty satisfied with my collection right now.

I mean yeah, there are some nice pieces out there that I wouldn't turn down if someone gave'em to me, but I've got no plans to buy more guns in the near or intermediate future.

What I have can with proper accessories do whatever I would want shooting wise.
