This is why I will never register my guns

About the observation that "Arkansas would be kinda like Switzerland was to the Germans", have Arkansans been practicing with a very large quantity of Swiss K-31 rifles?
Please say so - I'll make a quick drive over the I-40 bridge.

At least large numbers of obsolescent, bolt-action milsurp rifles which are bought at gun shows keep a really low profile compared to the autoloaders.

Johnny Dollar: And in that beautiful state, it's impossible for outsiders to really imagine the storage locations for them in the northern hills or southeastern swamps.

Such obstacles for politicians to first Locate, then try to control them (simply to strengthen govt.) must be what Most irritates the worst of the anti-US Constitution members of Congress, state governors and many mayors.:D
This is a primary reason why I bought my first SKS in early '08.

I have before and will again if it comes up rather than give them the opportunity to make a felon of me with the many attendant penalties.

Now, if the registration leads to a confiscation, well, that's a whole 'nother kettle of different colored horses.

I've known three fellas with firearms illegally possessed in various jurisdictions who where absolutely correct in stating that given the way that they conducted themselves no one would ever find out... right up until they were wrong. Each of the scenarios were different and completely unpredictable.

Not that I'm aware of. There are LOOOOTS of guns and gun owners in Arkansas though. I think that alone would deter anyone from wanting to fight in this region.

Bonta's other gun-control bills include AB187, a 10 percent tax on ammunition sales to fund crime-prevention efforts in violence-wracked California cities; AB180, giving Oakland special dispensation to enact gun regulations more strict than the state's; and AB1020, requiring the state to notify gun buyers during their 10-day waiting periods that "straw purchases" on behalf of those banned from owning guns are illegal.

California? Violence wracked? UNPOSSIBLE! We have some of the strictest gun laws in the country!:cuss:

Notify gun buyers that straw purchases are illegal? Maybe we should just ask for whom the gun is bing bought on the 4473 that everyone fills out.

...oh wait...

A coworker's husband is a small town detective in eastern AR.
It's interesting that various police officers can choose their own type of rifle for a squad car (i.e. Mini 14/red dot). The traffic stop ambush/murders of the two LEOs in West Memphis might have been a motivation for such policies.

What many anti-gun politicians don't care or want to understand-among so many other facts-is that LEOs and soldiers are much more effective at their jobs to a large extent because of being armed citizens at a young age.

Historically there was never any clear line in the US, unless I'm mistaken, between what the late professor/
prolific author Stephen Ambrose ("Band Of Brothers" etc) called "citizen soldiers" and everyday civilians.

The fact that so many detached, urban politicians display such unbridled contempt and arrogance in regard to our history and culture, and towards the US Constitution defines them as unpatriotic, to be as diplomatic as possible;).

"Back ground checks be them Universal or as now have nothing to do with Registration. You go through a background check every time you take a loan, rent a home, apply for a job and some of those require FBI background checks. No files kept on background checks now after a day or so at which time they are destroyed. ."

Wanna make a bet? Nothing is truly deleted from a computer and can be retrieved by a knowledgable IT person.

When is the last time you ran a Credit Report on yourself? Ever notice the inquiries? Or how about when you go apply for a loan and with your name, social security number and date of birth they have your entire personal and financial history on the screen?

Public Use Clause in the 5th Amendment

"No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation. "

Could one of the legal experts expand on how the 5th Amendment would apply to the seizure of personal property that has been made illegal by a new law?

There have been many, many things that were legal to possess outlawed without compensation to the owner.

In the case of firearms the reason for outlawing them is to prevent a future harm(s), not for the purpose of arming a "public" agency or let's say being put in storage for use in a emergency/disaster for example.

In regards to the protection of the 2A not all firearms are being banned. Just the ones that have been determined to cause harm to society.
