I made a comment in passing to a neighbor that I had a extra brick of federal bulk .22lr and within 20 minutes, i got 4 text messages offering anywhere from $100 to $125 for it. :banghead:

I really hope this ends soon.

Haha, you can buy a brick of eley black box for that.... I sure hope you take him up on that offer

I just bought a .357 magnum (EPIC BUY BTW!!!!) 1980ish S&W Model 65-3 4" barrel matte silver, pristine condition... $150 less than what the guy intended to sell me at the show... So nice...

Anyhow, man trying to find ammo for anything, even to reload is absurd. Between all the people buying guns, shooting constantly, reloading, etc... there is like... nothing :(.

Just spent $850 or so on 500 rounds of .357m and 500 rounds of .38 special +P. :(

We really need to make an effort to calm people down and reinforce that our 2nd amendment is not going anywhere.

I had to laugh someone came in the shop looking for .40 and one of the other regular customers said, 'oh yeah there's a whole box over there.' Just the way he said it we all had to laugh that sad laugh.

I used to joke months ago that ammo would become as lucrative as drugs where someone would be out on the street with little clear baggies of different calibers strapped inside his jacket whispering, 'psst, hey.. Wanna buy some rounds?' :D
It would actually work quite well too if people had it (and sold it at less than double the normal price). As bad as it's been I've still been passing up inflated priced ammo.

Also I've been tempted to buy 9mm handguns just for the opportunity to purchase a box of 9mm with every gun sale :)

It may be easing

FWIW, the local Walmart (OP,KS) got two relatively large shipments in the last 4 days.

I missed Saturdays delivery as I was at the farm. I was told they had
two fully loaded carts with a variety of ammo including a lot of 22's.

This morning they brought out another fully loaded cart. I couldn't count everything but it looked like at least 10 bricks of Federal 22's, $19.70 each, at least 10 boxes of 325 count Federal AutoMatch 22's, $14.27 each, about 10 boxes of 525 count Remington Golden Bullets and at least 20 100 count Mini-Mags, $7.27 each. They also got in some 9's, 45's and 223's and some other rifle ammo. I didn't even try to count how much.

It is the first time I've see 22's in 3 months. :D

Two employee/ re-sellers were complaining about the 3 box limit and having to wait until 7 am to purchase. Manager nicely told them tough.

The number of buyers showing up since the vote seems to be dropping off. It was common to have between 10 and 15 buyers. The last two mornings there have only been five. I almost didn't go but really wanted some 22's. We are probably closer to the end of this than people think.
