(Forgive me if this topic has been covered.I didn't pull it up on search.)Anyone fired the 17 caliber autoloader from Thompson? If so,what is the verdict.I believe retail is about $475,and I am interested,as a paper/plinking rifle. Thanks for any response.

I don't think it's hit the stores yet and I haven't seen any postings on personal experience over at rimfirecentral.com.

Here's a link to a G&A article.

While I have no experience with the TC auto, I have a Marlin 917M2 in Mach 2 and it is a really neat little cartridge; very accurate. Good for bunnies or praire rats to 150 yards or so, maybe farther if you don't require spectacular kills. If you are asking specifically about the rifle and not the cartridge, I can't help.

BTW, the Marlin is only $200 and is a tack driver, so if you can live with a bolt gun, I recommend it.

Thanks for the feedback.I have heard the HMR is preferable for greater distance ,but the Thompson is slated for Mach 2.The appeal to me was for a high quality semi-auto.
