Shopping for a new centerfire rifle. Presently, I have .243 BAR, 7mm RemMag BAR, and .308 M1A, all semi-autos. Just getting into reloading and want to do mostly non-competitive target shooting with possible occasional whitetail deer hunting.
Was considering a bolt action, .243 or perhaps .308 (more options for target loads) and want to stick with one of the calibers I already own. I am a right hander who shoots lefty because of a dominant left eye, so I want an ambi stock. RH bolt would be OK
My short list:
Savage Weather Warrior
Remington 700 CDL
Browning A or T-Bolt
Thompson Center, Encore ProHunter
I am leaning toward the ProHunter because of the ease of barrel exchange and the inherent accuracy of a single shot action. It looks like the non-thumbhole stocks on the Thompson is indeed ambi. Anyone own & shoot a TCF Encore ProHunter. I would appreciate any pro/con advice. Thanks
Yikes! I meant to put a ? not a thumbs down on the thread tag. Oops
