Fun as all get out. Usually will fling empties a country mile. Loud and depending on ammo a huge flash!

The round is fast and the gun is pretty robust. It's a roller lock design. Firing pins are prone to breakage.

Check with Makarov.com for a bunch of info.

Absolutely plink it to death; it's a fine pistol with a great following. If you were looking for a similarly sized pistol to carry I'd recommend a Makarov, but the 52 will fit your "fun gun" needs perfectly.

Is there some type of surplus to watch out for? I seem to recall either Bulgarian or Romanian surplus ammo being poor quality or dangerous, but I can't remember. Also, does anyone know what country made the 208, 400, and 800 round tins? The Romanian appears to come in 504 and 1224 round tins.
