i have decided that i like shooting .22 best of all my guns so i am going to buy a .22 in DA.

I would like some experience from Taurus owners about the 970 Tracker and the M94 in 4" barrel.

both are used and priced at $280 ea. havent tried to haggle yet.

i know Smith's are great but i dont get to shoot all that much and would hate spending a bunch on something im gonna look at.

Both are in great condition. I tend to like the Trackers because of possible resale but the Trigger is VERY stiff on DA. will they loosen much? can i dry fire to wear things in a bit?

thanks in advance.

I don't own either, but almost bought a Taurus M-94. That is until I came across a used Ruger SP101 .22LR for about the price of a new Taurus. The difference in quality is huge. Fit, finish, cylinder lock up, trigger, etc.

You may be surprised at how much you will use a .22. Very cheap to feed, comfortable, accurate, realitivly quiet and just plain fun to shoot. I'll typically shoot 200 to 300 rounds of .22 at a time. I'd recommend getting something of better quality than the Taurus - you'll be glad you did after your first 100 rounds at the range. From what I've read, reviews are about 50 / 50. If you get a good Taurus, you're in luck. Get a bad one and there's typically no fixing it to your satisfaction.

I just got my wife a 94 for varmit protection around the farm. She took to it right off. Even bagged a possum trying to invade the chicken house. This one was used but in good shape. We don't have a broad experience with wheel guns (I'm a 92FS man myself), so we can't give you any comparisons. We do plan to acquire more wheel guns as MO CCW clears the legal hurdles in Jan.

My Taurus 94 2â€snub was purchased as a cheap practice gun for my SP 101 but I find that its just plain fun to shoot in its own right. Today I shot over 200 rounds without any probs. I use it as my around the homestead and woods gun. I also like that is has a 9 shot capacity

i have the .22magnum model 941 stainless 2".

it is a sweet little gun and enough for in your face defense against sub-humans for those who are recoil sensitive.

load it with snake shot and it does in water maccosins, copperheads, and rattlers with ease in the woods or on the boat.
