Thoughts on this AR-9

PSA is killing it nowadays. They ship out some turds once in a while, but so does every manufacturer. One thing about PSA, they are always pushing forward, trying new things. I'm a PSA dealer. I can call the dealer # and get a status on production cycles. The sales reps are sitting 30ft from the production line. Not many companies that can offer that direct connection to their products.

Have they improved their discount program for dealers? I know the last time I talked to one of the LGS owners they complained that PSA prices online were better than what they could get as a dealer. I thought that was terrible. So I hope they're working on improving their dealer program as it would be nice for dealers like you to be able to make some money on what you sell. In my case, I'll order directly from PSA but if the prices locally were close enough, I'd gladly buy from the LGSs for some of the things I buy.

What business are you affiliated with? Are you with Freds?

I bought a Freedom Ordinance FX 9 pistol a few months ago. I put a SBA3 brace on it and it makes a nice little package. I stuck a Trijicon red dot on there too. They are well made and use Glock magazines. You might want to consider this one. They make a rifle as well.

Their dealer program is far better than the buy 5 get one free programs Ruger and others offer. I get a healthy 20% ish discount and free shipping on almost everything. Funny thing is, dealers cant purchase online, phone order only.

I’m glad they improved the dealer programs.
If you saw my review on them, they do t sell to customers direct except via online and their stores, so it’s funnt they do the opposite for dealers.

Cool, my return should be in this week and I’m trying to decide on an AR-9 or a 223 bolt gun. I think the AR-9 would be more fun though.

I am thinking about going the EndoMag route. All you have to do is take the floor plate and spring follower off a 30 round magpul AR 15 magazine and insert the EndoMag 9mm conversion unit into the Magpul mag. Read lots of good reviews.

I’m thinking about this one unless there is a better one out there for less. What say you?

Dude, I just sold my 16" PSA 9mm to get this 8" version. Took it to indoor range and put 50 rds of fmj and 20 rds of hps through it with no problems. Just added the SBA3 adjustable brace and flashlight to it. As well as offset sights. This thing is so sweet I might buy the 4 inch version just for fun. 20190304_193254w.jpg

I want small and portable and I think for me the 8” is just right. The 16” is definitely too big, and I think the 8” will do just fine.

Nipprdog, that looks good. I may stick a red dot on mine if I get it.

Backpacks designed to stow for carry-on use are also a good fit. They often have 20-24" main compartments that open completely with a zipper (unlike backpacking backpacks that often just top-load), have some kind of internal frame, and look like any other backpack.

it is difficult to find a funner firearm than a ar9. acurate, cheap to shoot, welcome at indoor ranges. there is nothing to dislike about them.

i got mine without a stock and put a sb adjustable on it. probably would have been just as happy with the fixed stock because i run it fully extended 100% of the time.

If yours is like mine it will work 100% with a FMJ round nose or round nose HP like an xtp, but will occasionally chock if you feed it a flat point or truncated nose bullet.

Shoots like a laser, mag after mag. Had one failure to extract at around round 400. Ran about 450 through her. Ran Glock, etm, and Magpul mags and 115, 124, & 147 through it. FMJ, plated, and coated with no problems.

Vism case from eBay.

I have the same lower but mine didn’t ship with a brace. The big problem with mine is that the factory spring and buffer combination were insufficient to keep the bolt closed before the chamber pressure drops to a reasonable limit. I was swelling cases and getting blasted with gas from the ejection port.

Sweet!

How is the trigger on yours? Mine also has the EPT trigger group. Breaks clean, but heavy. Mine is 7 lbs. Wish it was a little lighter.
