THR and Friendships That Will Last A Lifetime-

I finally spoke to Dave Mc on the phone tonight. I have a distinct feeling Dave and I could get into real trouble together. :D

I best retain THR/TFL attorneys if and when I get a chance to visit some folks. I think Smoke and I could outrun the law, with Corriea his size might keep us out of trouble...the rest I dunno know about. :D

I have an idea being the main character in a LawDog File probably is not a good thing...Suggestion made for me to PM LawDog with the description of my vehicle , license plate # and travel plans...:p

Art is like an Uncle...

Chris's wife, well I haven't spoken to her, I have heard her in the background...she don't talk funny like her husband. :neener:

Preacherman, is very sophisticated , professional on the phone. I mean his education, depth of knowledge and life experiences come thru.

I won't embarass anyone else. I will state, everyone I have met via THR/TFL , be it phone, PM, email, snail mail or conducted business with - the best examples of responsible firearm folks one could possibly hope to meet.

Humbled they put up with me.

Thanks-

Steve dear fella ..... you can talk about accents!!!:D But hey - when we chat - I have (you didn't know this did ya!?) ... a real time ''Southern to Normal'' dialect translator - running alongside!! :p :D Without that - I'd be screwed! :D

Just kiddin my friend .... amazing what we can all understand!:) Honored to have some of you guys as folk I regard as friends.

We gotta have a serious talk with El Tejon. I spoke with him via phone the other day. He may type a 'southern drawl" when in Tejas...aint' no way he can verbalize it tho'.

LOL sm you really busted me up with that qoute:D

:D

Hey , I am Southern Boy , born and raised. Lewis Grizzard was right, southern folks can do allright in the north...the reverse err....

I was in the Amish country in PA, they understood me...nodding and pointing does mean they understood - right? I believe the Amish fella knew meaning of "tumped" - he grunted, his wife wrung her hands...that is good - right? Really neat folks the Amish.

Back in town...by my lonesome...
Folks gathered around and bought me pie and coffee, wanted to shoot pool..."just say something", the ladies eat this "drawl" up. :p Even asked to dance, I can't dance - I just snuggle up ,hold on and whisper in their ears...worked for me. :)

I was not going to correct the young lady I was snuggled up to- if she wants to think that AR is b/t TX and NM...I ain't gonna say different...:)

I have made several friends here as well. I condiser the thread starter to be one of them. I guess I have as many if not more real friends in this forum as I do in real life. Which is why it was especially hard recently when an online friend who it turns out I had met several years ago in real life passed away.

The fact that life has kicked me rather hard several times in the past few minths has prevented me from being as good of a friend in return as I'd like to be. Hopefully things will rebound soon because the thought of disappointing any true friend, real or cyber, weighs heavy on my heart.

It's amazing how close one can become with people you have never had the priviledge of meeting face to face. But then again after you have read and chatted with people for months you start to see the real soul without the distractions of physical appearance.

1Samuel 16:7 for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh upon the heart.

It has long been my belief that Knowledge is like Love, it's usless to have it unless you share it.
I try to share what limited knowledge I have here. And since I have no real family I also try to share the love of family I have in my heart.
Looking around sometimes I wonder if I am worthy to be here.
There are truely some remarkable people around here and I am proud to be associated with y'all.

I agree - I've made many lasting friends online, some of whom I've already met "in the flesh", and others whom I've yet to meet (but I'm planning on it! :D ).

Of course, some of you are a considerable challenge, professionally speaking... SM, I want to hear more about you, moonshine and that lady armadillo sometime!

:what: :neener: :p :D

What can I say? I feel blessed to have Dan as a friend. He and his family are the most genuine people I have ever had the good fortune of knowing. We have become very close friends, and it never would have been possible had it not been for THR. I feel as though he's my Southern brother. :)

I'm not very good at conveying my personal thoughts, especially on the internet, but I have to say, I consider it an honor to be a member of THR. I would also like to say "thank you" to all the members, and staff for being here. Everyone tries to be considerate of other members feelings. The knowledge that people share is like nothing I have ever experienced in my 60 years on this earth. It's too bad the rest of society couldn't share the way people do here on THR. It doesn't get any better than this, IMHO.

Again, "thank you" all. Dan, "thank you'', for being a great friend.

good luck, and be safe,

SILENT ONE

Oh Preacherman...you had to drag that one up didn't you?

Folks - it is not near as good as the one Preacherman has before he started wearing a collar, was a stratagist / tactician in a civil unrest, and he found himself "lost and surrounded" by kegs of wine and and all females ...well they had "habits" they just didn't wear them....come to think of it, I don't recall them wearing anything in that story...:neener:

You know it is bad when I a Protestant has to attend Confession after hearing that story...:p

You doing Okay Sir?

I know what ya'll mean. I cant do much so i browse the forums, just cause I dont post dont mean i aint around ;) This forum is more like a family then a forum, sure we have minor disputes but they get worked out. I browse Glocktalk and TFL but they just dont have the same flair as THR. Hope everyone is doin good.

Its so nice seeing people who are such good friends. You guys warm up my heart. :)

I hope to make some friends here too, at some point, I am still fairly new. Heck, you probably wonder who I am and why I am posting in this topic saved for old friends. :scrutiny: You are right if you are wondering. Ok, hm, I... better go now to do that important thing I just remembered.

First of all, thank you Ala Dan for posting this thread. I too am very proud to be a part of such a civil and gracious group of individuals. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting many THR members in person but those I have are very nice people and I have become good friends with one member. I can't get over what a wonderful medium this is to meet and exchange ideas with others that share similar interests. I was never an internet person until I began searching for gun related topics and I have to tell you that some of my initial experiences were far from impressive. THR is the best. Thanks to everyone that has helped to make it what it is. Mike

Anna G.

Get back in here!

How are we ever gonna get to know you if you run off?
Besides, we need more ladies around, looking at all these grumpy men all the time gets kinda old and boring. :D

What do mean get my feet off the coffee table? :p

Thank you, Sm. :) I'd enjoy the male company too.

You can keep your feet on the coffee table if you dont mind me doing the same. :D

Anna G.
Works for me...

<whistle, flag Preacherman, Chris...someone>

Could one of you folks bring Anna and I another soda,? We are all comfy with feet on the coffee table and all...we don't want to get up...:D

Steve ...... tricky that - ya see, every time I attach a soda to an email ...... the metamorphodingblaster blows a breaker on me. Then the disconbobulator plays up and .. all I get is a wet and sticky desk.

I am waiting on a new Capt'n Kirk Enterprise Transporter ''Flewd-dangittohellstabilizer'' ...... might work then.

Patience ..... :p :D

sm says;

ah-ha...that explains...why the cartridge carrier I bought from you held Crayola Crayons [tm]
Do I dare ask how you toted 30-30 loads? :neener:

Aw Chris...get the Missus to send it. I have a sneaky hunch she sneaks out to the office and repairs all the stuff you fix...got her doing the reloading too I bet...those guns are really hers - huh? :p

I'd like to meet pax in someday in person. I don't know - she said b/t the choice of keeping me out of trouble or 5 boys , she would rather take care of 5 boys...
Come to think of it folks have said the same about milking cows, tending horses, slopping the hogs and getting wisdom teeth pulled ....etc., versus having me around...:p

That bad? I hope sitting on one table (or worse putting my feet on one table) with you wouldnt have any negative impact on me. :p

Anna G. -
I'm not that bad - really I'm not. I have no idea why Southern Boys get the reputation we do. :p

El T - oh it wasn't the speed of speech you have, I can keep up. The dialect threw me.

I've been to Canada ( yooze guys) and as far South as Jamacia ( reggie, Bob Marlowe, nude beaches, nude volleyball, jerk chicken) of course down there one meets folks from all over , various languages - one just points, grins , and trips over BIG wooden chairs and walks into BIG trees. :p

I met some couple when in Key West once. This was shortly after I literally ran out of highway [ drove onto beach, always wanted to run out road] They were admiring the "Cookie Lady" - Said they were from South...maybe they meant South of France. Kept saying "We" I thought they either had to go potty,( "we we") or they were referring to themselves as a couple. Still don't know. Not sure I want to.

Your dialect is somwhere in between. :D

Hope all you friends and future friends have a great weekend. We are very fortunate to live in a special country, hope you can all celebrate on the 4th!

Penman,

I'll bet not many of your friends forget your birthday, 4th of July.:D

Let me be the first to wish you a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY"

good luck, and be safe,

Thank you, silent one!!! Appreciate the birthday wishes.

I don't think I'll need to be part of the wheelbarrow/shovel/kazoo drill team in the parade this year. (We followed the horses!!!)
