threaded mossberg 500 receiver

So I have a used Mossberg 500, and it does not have the receiver top drilled and tapped for a scope.

I know modern 500's come from the factory drilled and tapped, but when did Mossberg start this?

I'm mostly curious to know how old my shotgun is.

it was the "cruiser" PGO model when I got it, (although it now wears a proper stock) could that have anything to do with it?

I bought a new Persuader in 2005 that was drilled and tapped, so your gun is older than that.

Ask for when it was made... They'll tell you month & year.....

(Might take a week or so for them to answer, though)
