I have a Post ban Bushmaster AR15 for which i want to thread the barrel for the A2 flash hider and add the Bayonet lug.

I had contacted Bushmaster and they refered me to a company out of FL.

I cannot remmember the name and since i have a new computer, I lost the email and Fav link from the place. THey has a deal to do both/

I think It was Kraigs custom guns or something like that.

Can anyone refreash my memory?

I believe you might be thinking of KKF. Kurts Kustom Firearms. If you want good work done really fast, you may want to look up Adco firearms in Toledo, OH. http://www.adcofirearms.com

They get great reviews on their work on AR15.com and I've been in their shop and can say they do a good job on customer service.

I agree with USP. You can get your barrel threaded with ADCO a lot quicker than Kurts.

However, Kurts does excellent AR15 work. I've had him do a couple projects of mine with more than satisfactory results. The only downfall is the turnaround on projects. I'd still visit his website since he always has something interesting to look at as well as a great selection of FS/MB's should you choose to go a bit non conventional.

Ya your right it was Kurts. Back case of CRS.

Does ADco also do the bayonet lug?

The bayonet lug is a matter of replacing the FSB (front sight base). I am sure they can do it.

Looks like Kurts just welds the lug onto your excisting base.

I shipped the upper from my post ban Colt H-Bar to Adco today to have an A-2 flash hider installed. Hope to get it back in a couple of weeks. :D

I got the upper back today, thats a six day turn around from the good people of Adco firearms. Granted I live in Ohio, but to install a flash hider and shipp the rifle back in less then six days is outstanding service. :)

One good thing about Adco (maybe others also) is for just threading the barrel, you don't have to strip the upper and remove the barrel (or pay them to do it); just send them the assembled upper (less anything easily removed). Adco earns a lot of good praise and seems to work quite hard to do things right.

Can you not thread the barrel yourself on AR's? I've threaded many AK barrels and know that you can thread pretty much any rifle with the right die and thread alignment tool. Many people on gun forums rent these out for $15-$25. Does the AR's barrel need to be turned down before it is threaded? Oterwise, I can't think of any reason why AR guys are always sending out their uppers to be threaded when they can save money and do it themselves.

Likewise on replacing the front sight base. I've removed and replaced the FSB on my DPMS AP4 .308, wasn't hard at all. Just wondering as I'm not very familiar with .223 AR's.

Yep. The mil-std thread pattern for a 5.56mm AR is 1/2"-28tpi x 0.600" long. The lightest contour AR barrel I've personally seen is 0.625" OD. To correctly thread an AR barrel, you need a lathe.
