That is my first set, I do want to do some to sell. I have some other types of wood and have some on the way. I need to improve on the process a little and get the process down on how to make them for a Colt.
So, to answer you question, not for sale yet, but they will be coming soon.
Well, when you do give me a heads up. I would probably want a couple of sets for my Walkers and my Colt Peacemaker............in tiger maple of course.
Hey K.A.T - that is beautiful wood. Make sure you do post again when you can accommodate Walkers and Dragoons. See you are getting a market already!
P.S. Watch out for Scrat! If he gets any he will beat them up with a crowbar, paint them with black house paint, use an el cheapo varnish - then will not use them in case they get scratched!
I was thinking about not only thicker grips, but grips that would cover the upper part of the backstrap to provide sort of a semi-double-action hump to prevent my hand from riding up toward the hammer. The way the stock grips are shaped I have a difficult time holding the revolver solidly and in a repeatable manner. My hand moves around on the grip too much. It is just the way my hands are made I guess.
Tiger Maple and Curly Maple is the same thing just called different names by people. I found some at a local lumber yard that handles some special items. I bought 3 pieces of 1x6 about 4' long ea. for $20. You can find a lot of it on Ebay.
Here are some I did out of oak I think they came out nice. I have a really nice piece of white Maple I am gonna make some grips for my remmie as soon as I find time.
I stripped the Uberti goop off of my walker grips yesterday and stained them adn finished them. Came out real nice. AM seriously pondering trying to make a set of grips for it. Something to do I figure. Have a couple of stocks I will have to make eventually so will be good practice
