Can anyone tell me about the Tikka T3 Battue

Or how about just Tikka in general

The Battue has caught my eye from web research, but I have yet to actually see one.

How is Tikka's reputation? Quality?

How are their triggers? their operating action?

My experience is with my Savage 10FP. I reworked the trigger myself to a smooth crisp light break which is about perfect. But the action still is a bear to operate. It is also a bear to lug around the woods.

Tikka's actions are smooth like glass.
Triggers are easily adjusted to crisp 2lb-4lb (range adjustment).
All that I have been around are sub MOA accurate.
T3 is long action or magnum action length only.
T3 comes with scope rings.
Tikka are good value rifles in my mind.

Battue-style hunting must not be popular with Americans since the Tikka Battue is available in the U.S. only by special order. There are still a few other rifle makes around with Battue sights but they are not very common.

Researching the meaning of the word "Battue" gives some indication of such a rifle's intended purpose, which is to rapidly acquire and shoot multiple animals in something approaching a stampede.

The Tikka Battue looks to be a handy rifle, and is probably quick to put into action and should provide fast sight alignment although I would still prefer a ghost-ring setup to the Battue sights.

If you decide to try to get one, good luck to you.

EXCELLENT rifles. My Tikka Whitetail in .243 puts 95 grain Hornady SSTs into less than an inch at 200 yards. Fantastic triggers, free-floated barrels.

Got my son a Tikka .25/06 that I (I mean HE), can't wait to try out.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but iv had the SAME question.

Z-Infidel says that they are available only as a special order... when i asked my local Beretta dealer, he had never heard of that model, so he took a couple of days to call around to his suppliers. he came back to me and said they are not available in the us at all.

Is there somewhere I can special order one? Or do you think the local dealer was selling me a song, that he didn't have to go through the hassle?

Well, according to the Tikka website they are available in the U.S. by special order. Try contacting Beretta yourself using the info on this page:

By the way, I think CZ also makes a 550 Battue that might be available somehow. Tikka also offers a 5-round detachable magazine for theirs.

There are a few of these floating around from when Sako imported them under the Sako name.
SWEET rifles....

I've owned the Battue Lite for a number of years now. It is a wonderful rifle. If you have a chance to get one, get it. If you are into walking through brush or quick target aquistion is truly a sweet piece of steel.
