I'm hoping some Tikka fans can help me with a question concerning the differences between these two rifles!
I'm thinking of buying a Tikka rifle in .308 Win, and I've been eyeing a Tikka "Scout CTR" at a local store (it runs around $850, and comes with a twenty-inch heavy profile barrel).
But, I've also spotted the Tikka "Tactical" (.308 Win) on a lot of sites online. It appears to have a similar barrel (same length), but the barrel is threaded for a muzzle brake. The cheapest I've found this rifle is $1,085, through an online store, and I haven't yet seen one in person.
So, what do I gain for an extra $235 when I move from the Tikka "Scout CTR" to the Tikka "Tactical" model?
If I'm only gaining the capability of adding a screw-in muzzle brake, I simply don't see the point in spending an extra $235. But, my opinion might change if there are really any far more significant differences between these rifles.
FWIW: it appears that the Scout CTR (Compact Tactical Rifle) may be a new offering from Tikka. I can find an official-looking online brochure for this rifle in a Google image search, but the rifle has not yet shown up on Tikka's website.
