Never shot one but always thought it was pretty cool. My Buckmark pistols are among my favorite range guns.

They’ve been around forever. I always wanted one, but always talked myself out of buying one. They just look awkward to carry.

That's exactly why I bought mine way back when. It has the walnut stock & fore end, though.
At the time, I thought anything that ugly had to shoot better than it looked. AND it shares the magazines and action with the Buckmark pistol.
Mine is also the heavy barreled one like the pic above. Interestingly, even though it is front heavy, I found it quite easy to hold steady offhand and did use it for quite a few Smallbore Silhouette matches. Not as picky about ammo as my Sako P04 is, but doesn't shoot its favorite ammo as well as the P04 shoots its favorite ammo either. And that is to be expected as the P04 was a $925 gun versus a $495 for the Buckmark (at the time).

I had one for many years. It just wasn't very accurate, but was a very fun gun to shoot. I ended up trading it for a mint condition 1977 vintage Remington 552 SpeedMaster, and have never regretted it.

Soon to be a collector's item, maybe? I doubt it will ever get the attention that the A-Bolt .22 gets, though.

I once got the itch. Found one locally and snatched it off the rack. Obnoxiously heavy and crazy expensive. No thanks.

Worked at a pawn shop and we got one in. Wasn’t my thing at the time and one of the other staff scooped it up

I guess your were looking for something lighter than 4.5 to 5.5 lbs.? Of my current 4 rimfire rifles, only 1 is that light. My other 3 are hitting 6 to 7 lbs.

They are shorter OAL that similar barrel length semiautos.
Everyone seems to enjoy shooting it and it makes going from a rifle to a pistol that much easier, as all of the controls are in the same place.
The concept actually had me playing with other pistol to carbine concepts. It does feel different than a your normal semiauto .22.
