Always liked the sleek design and build quality of the Gerber Silver Knights. They remind me a bit of another Gerber knife: the Ebony Folding Hunter III.

went looking for my Manixes. I found both 2 LWs and my original, but don't see my Manix 2 XL. Hopefully it'll turn up- it's my favorite hard use folder!

I remember that you stated in a post some time ago your preference for the Manix over the PM-2. I had both knives at the time and my personal preference (at the time) was the PM-2. But I had the lightweight Manix 2. There was a lot that I liked about it, but it was just too light, and still a relatively large knife. Plus I didn't care for the CTS BD1 steel in the blade compared to the S30V in the PM-2.

But last week I got a chance to handle the regular Manix 2 with G10 handles and S30V steel. Now I get it. I bought it and it hasn't been out of my pocket since. I also have a couple of the Natives that will serve for the times I need something smaller. The older Native I bought at Walmart years ago for $35. The blade grind is slightly different than the newer production knife, but still basically the same. I could probably do everything I need to do with a pocket knife with those 2.

Glad the Manix 2 is working for you.

The little knife is Finnish, I got it from my father who came to the states in 1962 so it's pretty old. I picked up another new one when I went to Finland in 1993 it has a red handle and is exactly the same size.
