So, I handloaded a bunch of test rounds using various powders and bullets in a number of different cartridges. Results seemed to vary pretty widely, by far the most consistent loads seemed to be with Titegroup and AA#5. Here are some examples:

.45ACP, 5.0 grains Titegroup, 200 grain cast RNFP, 6 round string (fps):

894.4, 895.6, 898.2, 896.6, 870.8, 879.2, AVE-887.5, STDDEV-10.74

.45ACP, 6.7 grains AA#5, 250 grain cast RNFP, 6 round string (fps):

798.0, 795.9, 821.1, 805.6, 802.6, 780.4, AVE-798.9, STDDEV-14.29

.44 Russian, 4.0 grains Titegroup, 240 grain cast RNFP, 6 round string (fps):

675.5, 676.6, 672.6, 688.2, 681.6, 664.2, AVE-676.5 STDDEV-8.13

.32H&R Mag, 4.3 grains AA#5, 100 grain cast RNFP, 5 round string (fps):

725.1, 749.9, 752.2, 747.4, 764.0, AVE-747.7, STDDEV-14.16

The .45ACP rounds were fired in a 4.5" S&W M&P45, the .44 Russian rounds were fired in a S&W 21-4 4" .44 Special, the .32H&R Mag rounds were fired in a Taurus 327 2" in .327 Federal Mag.

All the Titegroup charges were thrown from a Uniflow Powder Measure, the AA#5 in .32H&R was also thrown from a Uniflow. The 6.7 grain charges of AA#5 for the 250 grain .45ACP were measured by hand using a Lee dipper and RCBS 5-0-5 scale for each charge.

This was my first experiment with a chronograph. I thought the results were pretty interesting.

Thoughts?

Ahhh... Landric got a new toy....

Welcome to the next level of fun, experimentation, and obsessiveness.

There's no hope for you now.

Yep, he'll be burning lots of powder checking things out now. :D

I don't know about Titegroup, but AA #5 has always given pretty consistent numbers for me.
