I have been looking to get a laser site/tactical light for my home defense pistol which is a Ruger P95 with a 10 round clip. After some research, I think I really like the TLR-2s Rail Mounted Strobing Tactical Light with Laser Sight. When I look to see what is compatible it states the Ruger SR9.

Does anyone know if this will work on a P95? Also, has anyone ever had any experience with the TLR-2s?

They both utilize a picatinny accessory rail, but the SR9 rail looks like it has more length to it. The pictures on Ruger's sight shows the SR9 wearing a TLR light while the P95 has Streamlight's M3. Whether or not the P95's rail is long enough to effectively mount the TLR is the question. It certainly has the right type of rail, but enough of it? I don't know.

The TLR lights are excellent products.

My TRL-1 works just fine on my P95. Its my nightstand gun. It does stick out past the muzzle so it looks goofy but it works fine. Lastly it will not fit in any holdsters with the light so I got a universal drop leg that works fine. Buy it. Great light!

The TLRs come with different keys for different slot sizes. It will fit on the P95 but will stick out a tad like stated. I had a standard TLR-1 on my P95 and experienced no problems with it attached.

IMO, I would just go with the standard TLR-1s. The laser is neat but not as practical since the light makes a nice back drop to see the sights. Your also adding more weight to the front end so which ever you choose, make sure to shoot the P95 at the range with the light attached. Before you go to the range, cover up the front of the lens and around the bezel with masking tape. This prevents the need to clean up the lens afterwards.
