I'm considering getting an Air Rifle for having some target shooting fun with, and to see if I can still hit what I aim at..
(havn't shot a gun in over 7 years. :()

only there is one thing realy stopping me just now...
my dad has it in his head that since we are moving back to the US from the UK sometime late next year, that the goverment here will cause problems for us when we move back if I do Get one...:scrutiny:
(any suguestions on something Offical I can print & show him to prove that they can't?)

Anyway, as for the Air Rifle ( if i get one) i'm just going to go for a Cheap, but nice SMK Single Shot Break Barrel.

as for Callaber, I can choose between .177 and .22 (open to sugguestions)

(I can post a Pic if anyone wants.)

anyway, I'd like to see any comments or thoughts you guys might have...

Thanks!:D

If you're in the UK, you'll be limited in foot-poundage anyway. IIRC, anything over 12 fl-lbs is treated as a firearm. You'll get better velocity w/ a 12ft-lb .177 than a .22.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing a picture of it.

First of all, the regulations on airguns in the U.S. vary widely from area to area. You need to check the laws in the area you are planning to move to.

Second, don't stock up on silencers. The last thing you need is to get stuck in customs trying to explain why you're bringing in silencers.

I don't know what the regs are regarding importing air rifles.

Gun-fucious has the safe suggestion. Buy there, sell there, buy here.

That's What I was planning to do anyway when I move.

Don't see a point in having a Silencer on an Air Rifle so I wouldn't bother even getting one.

Yup, looks like you basic barrel cocking spring piston air rifle.

They're relatively inexpensive and easy to come by in _civilized_ parts of the US.
