It was a small, brushed stainless (I think), wood griped, light, VERY nice looking revolver made by--Charter Arms. The shop owner said that it's the nicest Charter he's seen in a looong time.
Has anyone else seen this little revolver? I find myself thinking about it a lot.

Remake

This is a remake of a popular model they had years ago. They've actually come out with 2. One is the 22 mag and the other a 22lr. Both are snubbies, but they say they will bring out longer barreled models soon. I would be very interested in a 4-5" 22 mag. The downside is that I understand they are only six shooters. Taurus makes a similar model (941 or 940) that holds 8 in 22 mag and 9 in 22lr. I have the 4" Taurus in 22 mag and really like it.

That should speak volumes to you about Charter Arms..... ie: the decent ones are the exception not the rule.

Yes Hal...

I know about the problems of Charter Arms. However this little .22 mag seemed different. It definitely *looked better than the older Charters I've seen. I believe I'll take another look later.
The same shop had the Taurus models and a .22 mag NAA Black Widow. I would have considered the BW more if it had had the interchangable .22 LR cylinder. Hummm.
But after all, do I really need the .22LR cylinder? This would just be a back-up or even a "third pistol". Right beside that was a regular model NAA .22 mag Mini Revolver with the longer barrel. I've had a Mini with the 1 1/8 inch barrel in .22LR for years. I wonder what the slightly longer barrel magnum model would do for me? Anybody have a long & a short barrel .22 magnum Mini that they have anything to say about? Does the slightly longer barrel model have any advantage over the short barrel version?

Thanks,
Will

Will,

"Noise and velocity". Less of one, and more of the other. How much, I dunno.

FWIW, I had a Taurus 4" 941 for a little while, but sold it when I joined the Army. I liked it quite a bit, and I'll get another one someday.
