One and Two, Constitutional carry, the removal of the need for a CCW permit to carry concealed anyhwere that does not require a permit by law, i.e., resteraunts that serve open alcohol. This puts us in line with Vermont and Alaska, if passed in the Senate and House, BOTH of whom are scheduled to vote on it today. Governor Brewer is expected to sign it.
Three, Senate Third Read votes on the House passed version of the AZ Made Firearms bill, Third Read, after which it heads to the Gov desk. I THINK she will sign it.
This will be an interesting legislative day.

Edit to add, Senate just unposted thier floor agenda for today, wonder if they got cold feet?
Edit again, reposted, nope, same agenda.

C'mon down, lots of room! Ranges all over the place, one just over 9 miles from my house, two 25 yard pistol bays, 100 yard sight in, 275 yard main, and an 80 yard range side by side, city maintained, and FREE.

According to azleg.gov. Senate Consitutional carry passed, whoo hoo! Also, the AZ made Firearms bill passed, with the House Bill subsituted for the Senate Bill, which I am 99% sure means it will go directly to the Gov's desk!
Woo hoo!

OK, I was a bit premature, apparently the House did not yet vote, even though it was scheduled for today, but may do so tomorrow, substuting the Senate bill for thier already approved identical version of Constitutional Carry. Also, the Firearms Pre-emption bill passed the House and will be sent to the Senate, to be subsituted for SB 1168 in the Senate Third Read final vote, hopefully tomorrow. The AZ Firearms Freedom Act passed with a vote of 22-8, and will be sent to the House as a formality before going to the governor.

WNC SEABE did he mention it's in the upper 80's right now, well RIGHT NOW it's 65' F it is 2130 hrs. The wildflower bloom is fantastic, which means plenty of insects [alas few skeeters] but that means plenty to eat for dove and quail. Big fat Gambel's Quail, Callipepla gambelii, which means hit the loading bench. Some Mearns in the foothills, but mostly Gambel's. Cotton tails are legal all year long and plenty of public land to hunt.

AZ is mecca for shooting and outdoors sports.

I was homesick at first when i moved here, but have adjusted and will never leave.

If you're a law-abiding person, you have carte blanche to exercise your freedoms out here.

AZ Firearms Freedom passed both sides, and is on the Governors' desk. A pre-emption law upgrade that adds firearms accessories, original intent meaning reloading supplies, is also on her desk. Constitutional Carry was supposed to be voted on yesterday, was rescheduled due to her call for a special session to file a lawsuit against Washington DC against the Health Care Garbage, and is not yet listed for a vote...but since the House already passed an identical version, we don't expect it to be shelved.

I'm starting to wonder... I haven't heard any good news regarding this bill yet. I was told today that DeMenna (big time lobbyist) was said to be lobbying against it with big money... supposedly Jack Harris and Phil Gordon are trying to stop it behind closed doors...

France did surrender, we politely declined, French wine is overrated.
I haven't heard anything about backdoor lobbying, it did pass the House commitees and COW without problem, and I am told support is there. I have contacted my Representatives, and continue to do so. :)

Edit to add, the pre-emption bill also removes the ability of cities/locales to restrict firearms in parks to CCW permit holders only, something that has been a bit of a pain for some time.

Tagged for later. Thanks for all of the updates armoredman, AZ just went up even more on my list of states to live in.

Tax dollars well spent if you ask me. Restoring the liberties previously taken from the people.

This suspense is ridiculous! I thought I would be celebrating by now and planning my next trip to Arizona.

A decision was put on hold to sue the feds over health care?!

glad to see AZ moving in a good direction. If only it did continue the 86' ban firearms :banghead:

A decision was put on hold to sue the feds over health care?!

It's not a small matter. A number of states are going to sue because Obama and the Democrats decided to finance part of their health care reform by shoving additional expenses onto the states. Literally millions (maybe billions) of dollars are at stake.
