i'm selling my Ruger p95 to buy ?

Sig P290
G26 or G27
Kahr p380
XDs 45 or 9 single stack

ya I know there all so different
i want a small carry gun.
Only reason I listed the Kahr 380 was to replace my every day carry LCP(sights suck).

the others are to get a smaller 9 or ? than my CW9
I may get 2 of the 4 listed

I purchased a SIG P290RS as a BUG/secondary carry when I simply can't carry anything larger. It's now my EDC.
Good: Shoots like a larger pistol, recoil is moderate w/heavy loads, mild w/lighter loads. DAO trigger means no manual safety to worry about manipulating under stress, every shot is deliberate. Night sights, 6rd mag for max concealability, 8rd mag w/extension for more rds & a full grip. A little large/heavy for true pocket carry, but it's doable. Galloway Precision makes a 22lb recoil spring & stainless guide rod which I like as well as a performance spring kit for the trigger.

Bad: Smallish grip, aggressive checkering (a few swipes w/light sandpaper fixes that), doesn't like hard primers (I've had several light strikes w/PMC and one w/GECO but it's been 100% w/Critical Duty, Winchester PDX-1 and American Eagle), can seem difficult to field strip but there's a trick that makes it easy. Trigger isn't bad but nowhere near as smooth as the SIG P250's DAO trigger.

Wife has the P380. Did the suggested pre-shoot prep (clean, lube, cycle manually 200 times and/or leave the slide locked back overnight) and it's been 100%. Had to add a Hogue grip sleeve for her shooting comfort. Slide is hard to rack manually but trigger is very good & the P380 is surprisingly accurate for such a small pistol.

From your list I would go with g26 and 27, or think about getting 19 & 26 or 23 & 27, compact and subcompact in same caliber.

For a truly small 9mm. I went with a Kahr PM9. In an equally small .380 I have a SIG P238. Both are great for CCW and are extremely easy to carry and use.

Thanks Thats what Im looking for honest opinions from people that own these guns

CM9 kahr and know theres a kahr CW380 and lower cost 9mm and 380 from kahr. Might as well add the m&p shield to the list.

I didnt think they made a lower cost cw380.
The shield is close to my CW9 in many ways.

The Glock 26 is the best gun on the list. The Glock 27 is next because the 40 S&W makes it too snappy.

I have become very conservative on gun designs after so many recalls (XDS being the most recent...but Ruger's recalls were disconcerting). Wait awhile on the SIG P290 because the redesign is too new (early 2012; original gun introduced in 2010). Let them work the bugs out first. I'd give it another year if you do not have other guns you can carry.

Kahr...nah. I have had too many avoidable issues with their guns. I prefer their metal framed guns over the polymer ones since the polymer seems to be too cheap. It's just not well done. I've had three PM9's and only one was good.

XD...nah. It's not a great design and isn't even made by Springfield.

The S&W Shield may be the way to go as an alternative to the Glock 26. Honestly, though, if you carry on the belt, the 26 does everything the Shield does and holds more rounds. It hides just as well because you have to cover it with a loose shirt.

If you're looking to pocket carry, the G26/27 ain't gonna cut it, they're too large for that. The XDs is nice and small but are they shipping the modified ones yet? Look into the Kahr CM9/CM40.

I've had several LCPs and while nice, they could be better. Kahr is supposed to be shipping their new CW380 (C version of the P380...same size but less expensive), but I have no issues pocket carrying the CM9/CM40. I've had both but kept the CM40 just because I have more .40 ammo. Otherwise the CM9 was excellent. Both larger than the LCP or P380 (and CW380), but still small enough of pocket carry and both shoot the bigger better 9mm or .40 and are smaller than the XDs too.

If you simply don't plan on pocket carrying, a G26/27 would be best.

Agreed...the G26 requires large pockets. If you're going to pocket carry, then stay with the Ruger LCP. Other guns with the sights you want are larger. Overall, though, belt carry is the way to go.

The XDs is a great gun when updated for the recall. I had a .45 and loved it but it slam fired one day after loading a round (scared the crap out of me and cost me a TV). I sold it and a couple of weeks later Springfield issued the recall for the problem. Wish I kept it.

Save up a little more and keep the P95---they are discontinued and you won't get much for it anyway---you'll be kicking yourself for getting rid of it---unless you just absolutely hate the gun.

G26 for the new purchase or how about a SR9c?

PM9 is my 24/7 gun, it sit's on the sink when I shave, on the side of the bed in a "pillow pal", and in my pocket in a remora holster. I may have other guns with me including this one, but the PM9 is always there , ready to go with 2 spare mags in my other pocket. I don't even know it's there anymore, and I have carried every small gun that is popular, and some that aren't. The Shield, Lc9, LCP, Model 60, PPK's,XDS, Glocks, 30, 26, 27. The PM9 is the best one so far, why, because it works every time, and it weighs 17 ozs, and still carries up to 8+1, "I don't carry that mag, but I have the option to", I carry a flat bottom 6+1. I can reload it in a second, and it shoots straight as they come.
Plus some guns just make you feel better than others, this is on of them. I love my 26 also, but it's too big for tee shirts and nike workout pants, which is what I wear al the time, "unless I am going out someware nice for dinner.
The 26 is a great gun also, it also works all the time, "no worries". It's close to a revolver as far as reliability goes.

Glock 26 gets my vote. It's small enough to disappear under a t-shirt, is comfortable for all day IWB wear, and 10+1 rounds of 9mm on tap is more than enough firepower (for me).

If you plan on carrying in a belt holster, I'd go glock 26, you can use glock 19,17 or 18 magazines to boost on board ammo supply. For pocket I'd go sig p290, but I like 9mm better than .380, it's cheaper and more ammo to choose from. For pocket carry I like a j frame, so you know where I'm coming from.

I carry a Glock 26. In my mind its as big as I care to carry and as small as I'd care to have to fight with. You get any smaller than that your compromised if you have to fight with it. The G26 carries small and shoots big.

Sometimes for the sake of just having a gun you have to make that choice but that is not true everyday all the time.

I have the Shield 9mm, G26 and XDs 45. I like them all for different reasons and carry them all at different times. Of the three, the Shield and G26 get the most use.

Not to add more confusion, but I also carry my G19 and M&P 9 Compact quite a bit too. It all just depends on what I'm wearing, where I'm going, etc. if I could only pick one gun to do it all, it would be the G19.

Thanks all.
I think Im going with a Kahr CW380 if I can find one.thanks to the member that let me know Kahr now makes a CW380.I think even though the 9 are small still to large to spend most days with me in Florida. My lcp is perfect size but just has no sights and i hate that in a gun

From your list I'd pick the G26 as I have one and love it. Since you have already chosen, I'd add the Beretta Px4 subcompact to others looking at similar pistols as I have just purchased one of them and like it every bit as much and more than the Glock.
