Last month, I took my long time friend to the range. It was his first time shooting rifles and shotguns. We all had a great time, and he was able to hit the 200 yard gong with my M-1 3/8 offhand the first time he touched the rifle! Here are some pics:

Nice glasses....

What's that large square thing hovering in the first picture? Kinda creepy... :uhoh:

I remember my first time shooting skeet...I got whacked with a round clay disc.

I really do enjoy it now though.

It is the government's Firearms-Monitoring-Device. It records, and IDs anyone with a gun, and cannot be seen with the human eye. A camera however can detect it presence.

Good ones!

It looks to me to be a brass (and en bloc clip) deflector, held up by a single post directly behind Natedog's head. Sorry. I calls 'em as I sees 'em. ;)

BTW, I'm watching Patton on Bravo, lots of M1 Garands. :) ANd M48 Patton tanks that are supposed to be PzKw III's or IV's.

It's an oversized square clay pigeon heading straight for him. Being a newbie and all, even he couldn't miss something that big, but it's looking pretty close at this point and his aim's still too low. Ooowooh! That's not good.

"BOOM!!! ... THWAP!!!"
