Mine
45 cal pistol high quality, mine a Sig P220ST with frag ammo Why? gets me to my.....

AR-15 M4A1 do not care what brand AR, just make sure the bits are good and working again good ammo me M885 or M193 works.

12ga PUMP ONLY, 95% of thief's run faster when one is racked! mine a Winchester 97, 7 rounds

Now we are done with defense

308 cal. AR-10 platform with VG 24" barrel and great scope. I need!

12 ga. Trap gun mines a Remington 1100 with all the opts.

22 cal need some thing for fun. Mine are semi-Auto

2nd AR-15 to take to range. Mine a flat top with Aimpoint M3 and 3x flip Mag.

The thing is to get the right cal.(for you) and quality gun for what u need, not brand names! You figure out what Cal U want then look for good deals. The bullet has no idea what made it go bang.

As u can tell I live in the drug cartel capital of America. (AZ):what:

Even with duplicates of a number of guns I'm stretched to get to 10 of what I find to be essential guns. I've no interest in many of the what the OP deems essential, my tastes and needs are different.

My choices;

1) CCW piece, .38/.357 snubbie or small auto
2) Full size service pistol for home defense, target. Glock G34 works for me but any number of guns will serve depending on your preference.
3) AR15, RRA national match flattop lets me shoot CMP, is good for defensive use even if a bit heavy and can mount a scope for target or varmints
4) Good shotgun, FN SLP 12ga with ghost ring sights is the most versitile I've found.
5) .22 of your choice for plinking, practice hunting etc...
6) Hunting piece, for where I live a Ruger Super Redhawk in .454 w/ 2x scope works well.

Anything beyond that is gravy.

Don't forget the C models, the OD green models, the EXO models, the SF models, the RTF and RTF2 models... Then there's the fabled .380 Glock... I've never seen one, but they're rumored to exist in other countries with different import regulations.

TennJed, out of ALLL the guns out there, those are the ones you laned on? The Hi-Point and Taurus i had owned were total trash and would have been more useful as a club than anything.. Not to mention you eliminated the only commonality amongst almost all of the #70 replies (Glocks). No offense and I dont know what your experience level is but you need to broaden your horizons my friend ;) There are much better firearms for reasonable prices that would serve you leaps and bounds ahead of what you think those hi point and taurus' currently are.
Was being sarcastic

I think there are at least 10 variations of the Colt Python, so my list is pretty quick.

My two cents is this is kinda silly, because not everybody likes or shoots the same.

My opinion of a good gun battery:

1. 12-gauge pump shotgun. Home defense, game getting, etc. Nice to have both a long and short barrel for it.
2. Semi-automatic rifle in a military caliber (223, 308, etc.) such as AR, AK, FAL, HK, etc.
3. CCW pistol, subcompact/small, revolver or semi-auto, your choice.
4. Home defense or cold-weather CCW pistol, large framed (357, 45, etc) revolver or semi-auto, your choice.
5. 22 caliber rifle (single shot, bolt action, pump, semi-auto, your choice...get a couple!)
6. 22 caliber pistol (Revolver or semi-auto, to compliment your CCW & home guns)
7. Centerfire rifle, scoped, capable of very good accuracy to 300 yards; Caliber should be OK for deer-sized game, minimum.
8. Pistol caliber carbine (should match ammo to one of your centerfire pistols) Semi auto, lever action, pump, doesn't matter.
9. Large caliber hunting revolver (357 mag or larger, preferably larger)
10. Something you just find cool. Could be a military surplus rifle, a cowboy gun, a pistol in an odd caliber, a C&R firearm, your great-uncle-John's old 32 Iver Johnson, something with history and heritage.

That's my two cents.
