Sorry brainstem, I think you're over stepping it. But hey, if you don't like it, don't worry about it.

Actually, for my .02 cents, think about it...

To quote you...

16. Mark Foley is a fag...

You don't think this influenced the Repub vote? You don't think that particular issue is of current importance, considering TN just voted 80% to constitutional amendments against gay marriage, along with alot of other states? If you don't think this was a factor (whether right or wrong, its beside the point) then you need to get in touch with a major section of the American public.

10. Republicans think Hispanic voters are stupid and would vote for a candidate because he looked "Mexican."

Well, republicans DO think that Hispanic voters would vote for someone that looked Mexican. I refuse to take the bait on "they are stupid", as its simply a charicature, and not meant to comment on their intelligence. Ease up.

9. All Black's look the same... Especially if they are a "black muslim."

The comment was about his name, not about his being black. Your comment is simply over the top.

8. Its the JEWS that control the elections!

Jews, especially in VA and NY, have historically contributed TREMENDOUSLY to the influence of elections, simply because of their large population. Your comment would be like saying "what, you DARE to insinuate that Irish American's control the elections in Boston!! Shame!!

5. Black voters are so stupid and gullible that they will vote for anyone that gives them anything free!

Similar comments are made about any racial group, and in my opinion, though a bit salty, who cares? I can't see the "deep faulty character" being revealed by this (markedly un-PC) comment. Sorry you were offended.

3. That "Reggie" would appeal to the "ghetto crowd" more than Mr. President...

Frankly, there are alot of people that would appeal to the crowd more than Prez, but there was nothing "ghetto" in his statement, he just needed a name ending with Bush that was popular... Reggie Bush seems to fit that to a T.

Taking a top-10 list and making it an assault on the originator's character just seems to go beyond the realm of an online forum.

For all of you who think there's any racism in my little jokes, the jokes are aimed at the stereotypes of Republicans, not blacks and Hispanics. The (inaccurate) stereotype of Repubicans is that they are so stupid about blacks and Hispanics that they'd actually believe the Afro Sheen and Frito Bandito ploys would work.

And the "Reggie" joke is about the President trying to latch onto the popularity of Heisman winner and Saints star rookie RB Reggie BUSH.

The Obama joke has nothing to do with how Barak Obama looks, it has to do with how similar his last name sounds to "Osama". Again, playing on the (inaccurate) stereotype of GOP dunceheadedness.

Aside from the spending issue, I think it's was also the disconnect. The secrecy, the invitiation-only events, the inability for anyone but lobbyists to even talk to their lawmakers...ever. Americans, centuries later, still don't like the idea of royalty rather than republic. They also appreciate the sacrifices of the military, but they will not accept politicians sacrificing the military.

Basically, they forgot that THEY work for US, and not the other way around. The voters reminded them.

Why democracy is such a great thing. :)
