Top Break .32s Rock!

Outstanding collection! I would love to conn you out of that K32! Those have gotten crazy expensive.

Yup, it was crazy expensive. But it was in immaculate condition, and I had the money, so I grabbed it.

It came with the box and some papers.

Sorry, it's not for sale.

Those guns used to be available by the dozen. Lots of collections grouped together going for near nothing on Gunbroker auctions. Now that I’m interested, not so much. I don’t know how many 4 packs I saw sell for $110 when my max bid was $100.

Confession: I too am a sucker for these cute little revolvers.

Little usage to them in this day and age; yet, .... It's the "cute factor". Were they organic, they'd grow up to be .357s and Forty-Fours.

I got my first K38 when I was 14 years old as a Christmas gift from my Dad. I still own that revolver. The real irony was that the K38 was the gun that everyone wanted…they could't give a K32 away. Back in the early 60s the price of either the K32 or the K38 was the same, $71.50. That’s about $710 in today’s dollars but still, who knew? Wish I had a crystal ball!

There’s something to be said for heavy slow moving bullets. Think .45-70.
I’m sure that was their thought process. Years ago Winchester had a 200 load for the 38 Special. I don’t know whether it was just unpopular or if their intended market (law enforcement) just didn’t see any value in the round. Whatever the reason that load has long since been out of production, as has the 38/200 load for the 38S&W. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can shed some light on this matter. I’m sure there’s a very interesting story behind it.

As for slow and heavy, I’m right with you. I carry a 45 Colt sometimes when I’m hunting…255 grain SWC that clocks 850 fps. My go to 357 load when I’m out hunting is a 180 grain Pugnose ( Missouri Bullet Company heat treated bullet ) that’s loaded with a stout charge of Unique. Don’t think I would call that load slow, it clocks 1200 fps out of a 4” barrel.
