I have a Ruger LCP that I would like to trade for a 9mm, or .357 revolver to keep my reloading needs simple.

I am not looking for trades here, but aim to look locally, for FTF trades.

I am specifically looking for a 9mm or .357 handgun that I can use for CW. I am not really interested in adding cash to the deal, but I could add 200+ rounds of new practice ammo and 50 rounds of defense ammo, a Desantis Nemesis holster, and 2 spare mags to the deal.

What I want to know, from you guys, is what do you recommend in my trade-range? I am leaning towards a smaller 9mm, if only because I am pretty sure the only small revolvers in my trade-range are of the Taurus pedigree.

A kahr would be nice. The CW9 would probably be a direct swap for the LCP and ammo. You'd have to add money for a PM9 (the PM9 would be the better concealed gun).

How about one of Kel-Tec's 9mm?

Then there's always the S&W J frame or Taurus 85 Ultralites (38 instead of 357).
Your gun with should be a direct trade for the Taurus. Add in all your goodies and you'd probably be able to trade for a S&W airweight.

I don't think you'd find a gun as concealable as the LCP in 9mm or 357...at least not in your budget.

I did the same thing, but I sold my LCP and bought a PM9. It conceals almost as easy and feels 10 times better in my hand. That 200rds of .380 will go a long way towards making up the difference in price. I bought my PM9 from topgunsupply.com for a little over $600.

I have owned one Taurus revolver, and the experience was enough to burn me.

Do you know if you if the CW9 easily digests casts bullets?

Cheaper to buy dies, and keep the little Ruger.
I am really trying to keep my reloading component purchases simplified.

Like J Lambs said, that extra ammo will go a long way in today's market. With all your goodies you should be able to swap for a J frame.

I don't know, but I bet they're fine with lead. From everyone I know who has them they've eaten any ammo they're fed.

About a week or so ago, I seem to remember someone on the Handgun Buy/Sell/Trade forum wanting to trade a .357 Ruger (Speed Six?) for an LCP. Maybe you could find that thread and the two of you could work something out.

Edit: He is in Florida, wants to trade his SS Ruger SP101 Police Service for a Ruger LCP. Here is the link: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=460695

Thank you, guys. I like my LCP. It is a great little pistol that goes just about everywhere with me, but, like I wrote, I am trying to simplify my reloading bench and .380 lost.

Kahr, definitely. However they have polygonal barrels which will require more cleaning than regular rifled versions. My K9 is extremely easy to shoot accurately, mainly due to the low bore axis and good ergos.

Keep the gun. They don't cost that much. You'll miss it. I'm on my third Kel Tec P3AT. They fill a niche that no other gun can. Like the other guy said, buy dies.

If you trade for a smaller decent quality 9MM, you will probably have to give up an additional $200 or so.
