Hah, David E pretty much called it. I ended up trading for the Astra, but I kept the glock as well and ended up trading for another 9mm I had, a zasteva ez9 I paid $350 for, which I was sad to see go but definitely felt good about trading.
So far It feels very solid, and I have put 75 or so rounds through it, both cast and jacketed, and it likes both. I will have to do a more detailed review in the near future.

If you can do this in a safe manner......

When testing that Astra try shooting it upside down or near upside down like one might from the ground in self defense. Especially say with the sights canted to between 4 and 7 o'clock.

I once tested one of the J Jovino guns that would not shoot in that position. Not sure why. It was a loaner for a magazine article so I did not get to mess with it much. Not one to condemn an entire make of firearm for one repeatable malfunction on one gun I have wondered if it is a design issue or some problem with assembly or the mdifications at Jovino's shop or just the way the planets were aligned that day.
