There’s nothing wrong with my CCO, I’m quite happy with it and right now it’s my only gun but I don’t get to shoot it nearly as much as I like. .45ACP is getting really pricey and I’m having little doubt that I could get a trade-in G17, a slightly used 870, and a near complete AR15 lower for what I’ve got into the Colt. I’m pinchin’ pennies here and I’d really like to hit the range more often.

Tough decision! I have come to regret the majority of guns I let slip away. I suspect you will have the same experience. Having said that, I'd rather have shooters than safe queens. Sometimes we have to be pratical, even if it hurts!

If you need cash, you can sell it here for more than used Glocks, 870s, and non-1st tier AR lowers are going for, even combined.

Dude, dont do it!

Take it from me, I traded my Colt Combat Cdr .45. I shoulda just been patient and save up my money for the other gun. I sure miss that Commander!:(

A Glock 17 is worth about $500

A Colt CCO is worth at least $700

If you really really really want a G17, sell the CCO, buy the G17 and have a couple hundred bucks for other stuff.

I think you'll regret it ... Colt doesn't make the CCO anymore (and yet Glock is still turning out G17s by the train car load).

I really like Glocks (especially the 17) but:

Never give aways a gun that works and that you enjoy shooting. You will regret it.

All these folks are right- don't do it.
But if you do... Send me your FFL's address and I'll send my low-round 17 AND the Advantage Arms .22 LEO top end conversion kit.
I don't have enought Colts. It's a problem for some of us.

The Glock is probably more practical (virtually indestructable and fires cheaper, but less powerful ammo). However, the value of the Colt would make me want to keep it.

No, do NOT sell! BW, if you were to see, what would you sell the CCO for? the CCO = great gun as a base for Custom 1911 gunsmithing :D

There will probably be a milion Glocks, there won't be anymore CCO's

Don't trade.

Get a .22 conversion kit.

I got a used Ciener for $85.00 and shoot the heck out of it.

Trade a Colt CCO for a Glock? And you ask are you nut's? No I would would say your stupid. A Colt CCO will always be worth more than a plastic Glock.....

Only if you do it.:uhoh:
A lot of us "contemplate" trades, but
most of us sober up before we actually
"do it".
IMHO, guns are made to buy, and shoot. Not to
sell or trade.
Every gun owner can tell you a story about the one
gun he sold, or traded off, that breaks his heart
every time he thinks about it. Mine was a Smith
K-14 with a 6" barrel that was a "T-A-C-K Driver".
And I swapped it for a Marlin .30-30.
I still hate myself for making that trade.

You gotta do what you think is best, but I made a decision
thirty years ago to never sell or trade a gun away.
I have not regretted that decision nearly as much as I
have regretted trading some guns away. :banghead:

I wouldn't do it if I were you.

But being me, I'd swap you all kinds of things for that CCO. I might even drive to Houston to do it. I might even buy a G17 and drive it to Houston to swap you, plus something else, like a little soft shoe or tap performance on your driveway.

Is this giving you some sense that your giving up the CCO might be a poor idea?

Don't do it! You'll thank yourself later, and the singing and dancing involved will be on your part, and you can keep it private.

I had a Glock 17 and sold it, with no regrets. I have a Colt 70 ser. .45acp If I had to sell it I would be sick with remorse.

I damn near spit my coffee out. :D I'm going to look into a .22 top end a little more. I'll just save up for an AR lower. thanks for putting it into perspective.

For around $100 you can get a Lee turret press set up to load 45 acp. You can make homemade ammo for half the price of factory(or cheaper). Mark
