Legally, selling is the same as trading - you need to go through a Form 4 and pay the transfer tax.

This is why it is important, when you buy a silencer, to get the right one. A $200 tax stamp on a $3000 machinegun is not a big deal. Whereas a $200 tax stamp on a $200 silencer will probably keep it from being sold on the secondary market. My point is - don't skimp on buying a silencer because you'll probably never get rid of it.

so..... you bought a 9mm can? depending on the can, that's not so bad because the same way you could've used the .45 can on your 9mm, you might be able to use the 9mm can on your .22's. which one did you go with?

i'm actually buying a 9mm can and i do have a .45

got an "inexpensive" 22 can knowing full well that i would be married to it for life. no intentions of selling it--works great and had $$ left over for other stuff. :D
