Hello HR,

I was just wondering if anyone has tried Trail Boss for 30-30. I have a couple of Lever actions:

1 x Winchester Canadian Centinnial 1867 - 1967 ( I wont shoot this again, it's been fired less than 10 times and has a white tail under its belt)

and I have a Marlin which I used to shoot all the time up near Albuquerque. I haven't shot it for about 10 years and recently, I came into some 30-30 brass and thought, time to shoot. I'm thinking 150 - 160 gr bullets, I reckon.

Give me your thoughts if you have any first hand experience.

Cheers...

Good stuff for sure. i have with lead bullets i use 7 grains. Awesome stuff. Very light recoil. Good for the gun and very very accurate stuff.

I too have had very good luck with TB. My 336 likes 7.0gr. with a Meister 165gr. LFP crimped in the groove. I don't have chrony data with me but it's a hair over 1000fps and is very accurate. A blast to shoot too!

Look at Hodgdon for data

160 GR. CAST LFN IMR Trail Boss .308" 2.485" Start 6.5gr 997fps 20,500 CUP Max 9.0gr 1195fps 29,100 CUP
