I was wandering if any of you that handgun hunt ever tried some 240/250 grain cast loads with Trail Boss for deer hunting. I've been shooting the MB 240SWC over 7.5 grains and it so accurate you can literally place your shot out to 40 yards or so. I don't have a chrono but I'm thinking its moving around 900 FPS maybe.
I typically hunt with hotter than normal loads in all my handguns but the accuracy sure is consistent with these lighter loads...All information and opinions welcome.

I’ve been experimenting with TB for my 44 spc loads for the past couple months. So far, I’ve been really impressed with it’s accuracy,as well. I also, think accuracy and bullet placement is for more important than power or even bullet construction. After all a deer will be just as dead with 22 LR through the heart as with a 300 Win mag. I say go for it… I’d use the 250 grainer, but that‘s just personal preference...

The 240 'keith' style 240 from MBC is a great bullet with Trail Boss. I am throwing 7.3 to 7.5 grains of TB.
They are accurate, and I think a deer would fall easily with a well placed bullet within 50 yards.
