i have a good question, have gotten little luck elswhere, and when i get luck its contradictory.

i was told that if i had a revolver with a transfer bar, REGARDLESS OF SA OR DA/SA mechanism, that
if i loaded it, fired it once, kept the trigger pulled all the way back, and pulled the hammer rearward till it stopped and let it snap forward, that the hammer would still rotate the cylinder, and snap forward but nothing would fire.

i would like to know for sure.

The cylinder would not rotate on a double action. The cylinder would rotate on a single action AND it will fire. We call that kind of single action shooting "slip-hammering".

I just read the information given to you on the Firing Line and every thing posted looked good to me???? The answer is, on a double action no, The trigger has to reset before the cylinder can rotate, single action , yes, you can " slip fire it , transfer bar or not. The transfer bar only prevents the gun from firing if a uncocked gun is dropped and lands on it's hammer.

...and the transfer bar hinges off the trigger so if the trigger is held to the rear, the transfer bar stays in the firing position.
