Transporting a handgun in WI

I need a quick answer as I cannot seem to find a definite answer online.
I need to know if it is legal for a minor to transport a handgun (Ruger MKIII) to a shooting range on private property and fire it without adult supervision the handgun would be in a proper case during transportation and would be unloaded seperated from ammo. I believe it is legal for a minor to transport and shoot long guns of any sort but I am unsure of the laws reguarding handguns. Any help would be great.

Don't do it.

A minor may only posess a handgun for target shooting if supervised by an adult.
