Had this powder on hand for a while, don't recall what I used it for last, but thought i'd try it with a cast,200 grain bullet in the ol' 1911 Norinco.

Started with a dozen rounds each of 6,and then 6.5 grains of powder, and ran to the range for a quick test.

the heavier load shot one ragged hole at 7 yards, the 6 grain not quite that good, but I liked the recoil and recovery better, so will test them again today to verify those results.

btw, I seldom am able to shoot 'one ragged hole' ,I give all the credit to the load and gun on that, moreso the powder I think.

Anyone else using PP in their 1911's ?

I use it for .45, but I didn't find it interesting until load went over 7.5 grains....this was with 230 grain RN.

Power Pistol was my forgotten powder, then I found a good load in 357 magnum. I am just starting to work up loads in 38 special and revisiting my 40S&W loads with a different COL and attitude. Come to think of it, I like PP in 9mm and 357sig also. Probably need to stock up on PP again.:banghead:

We have so many good choices, and power Pistol is definitely one of them.

Power Pistol is my favorite for medium/hot .357 rounds. I have loaded plated 200 and 230 gr .45 ACP using it with very good results.
