Trigger Guard Problem?

I have very big hands and shoot the Ruger LCP .380 well, but have one problem. My trigger finger drags the bottom of the trigger guard and sometimes prevents me from completing the full pull. I have big fat fingers. After stripping the LCP down, I was thinking of putting the trigger guard in hot water to soften the trigger guard up, then taking a dowl and rounding the guard down to create more space for my finger.
Anyone have this problem? Any comments on what I plan to do? I know that the hot water method is done to get rid of the pig nose on Glocks and works very well.

I have no idea how trying to change the trigger guard would go, but why don't you trade or buy a different gun that fits your hands better?
