Trigger issue

I have a Springfield Mil-Spec that I've shot for eight years or so, never had a single issue with it. After my wife got me a Colt, I decided to make this SA a project gun, and added a Commander Hammer (the bobbed one), a beaver-tail grip safety and an extended thumb safety.

I installed the parts and did a function check and they seem to work well. The only thing I noticed is that the trigger takes a lot more pressure to fire than it did before. When I squeeze, though, it does fire. I took it to the range today and fired 50 rounds through it and it does seem a bit better, but not much.

Any idea how I can fix this, or what I might have done wrong?

That sounds plausible. How would I check that? Take the grip safety off and look for markings on the underside?

Lightly file the underside of the grip safety tongue. (That is the protrusion that blocks the trigger bow.) I had to do that to mine when I changed triggers.
:)

Use a black marker to color the underside of the tongue, reassemble and pull the trigger a few times then check where the black was removed and file there. Repeat until the trigger bow no longer removes any marker.
