Troy Industries TRX rail... any good?

I'm running the 11" on a mid length 18" 6.8SPC upper. I haven't gotten to shoot it much at all, but I really like the way it feels. It's small and other than the top rail the only rails on it are exactly where you want them to be. No need for rail covers. It doesn't ring like a gong like the VTAC rails either. Right now it's my favorite of the various systems I've used. I got it for about $150 from AIM when they had a 10% off sale.

Hey thanks!. I am going for that rounded and slim profile for a reason. It seems much like the M.I. ones that I am using in a couple of systems and I am very happy with. The problem is the MI doesn't allow me to install the adams piston but this will.
I have other piston uppers so if this one goes in the rifle well will be putting in a couple others.

This is for the next 6x45 'victim' at the bottom...

I have a couple of the 13" TRX Battlerails. One on my main 3-gun rifle, and another on my AR-22. I like them a lot, with a couple of caveats.

Be very careful during the installation. The Troy barrel nut is really low profile and it's easy to strip the teeth if you crank on it too hard. I recommend using plenty of Permatex anti-seize.

If you use a low-profile gas block under the handguard, be aware that you won't be able to mount a 6:00 rail in that area. The backing plate for the rail will contact the gas block.

Finally, don't go crazy tightening down the clamp bolts. There should be about a 1/8" gap between the tabs. If you put enough torque on the clamp bolts, you may tear out the threaded insert, or even break one of the tabs. Bad stuff.
