How accesible do you keep your truck guns? Pistol or rifle. Your CC piece while you are in a vehicle? Behind the seat isn't very accesible in an emergency, to me. Center consol, not to bad. But pasenger side glove box, too far to reach.

I made a holder for my CC piece, with or with out holster, that is attached to the side of my speaker box/center consol. It puts my pistol right at my knee. ready to go if needed. I'll post a pic of it in a bit.

it depends on what state/locality you live in
many places what you describe is CCW, and if you are going to carry concealed, I'm of the opinion it should be on you, but I also know that many here also keep something in the car as backup.

Our state provides for a CCW handgun on person in a vehicle, but makes no provisions for a rifle or shotgun to be accessible in a vehicle for protection. To keep within the law, I keep a rifle (a fabricated hybrid AK variant that my brother assembled) in my trunk. I can get to it within seconds, and have my handgun on person to cover me should I need to get to the rifle for heavier defense. That will sound like overkill to some, but I and many others feel a handgun is only used until you can get to your real fighting arms. An AK will dominate and reverse most attacks, and with the red dot sight, I can pinpoint a shot out to 200 yards in a shorter time than most. In the meantime, the rifle is stored, out of sight and reach, but still available if needed. A handgun should give you 5-10 seconds of defense until better armed.

I keep my pistol in the center console of my car, between the driver and passenger seat. I find it more accessible than the glove box, and it doesn't wiggle around as much.

The "best" place for a long gun in a vehicle is dependent on your vehicle and state law. There isn't any "one answer fits all".

Bingo. Keeps it very accessible, and with me when I leave the vehicle. Woke up one morning a couple years back to find a note on my door from the police that a dozen vehicles in my APT parking lot had been broken into. Heart skipped a beat when I realized I'd left a handgun in my truck overnight. Luckily it's old enough, and the stereo equipment is stock mid-90's Ford, no they didn't bother breaking in. Not having an NRA sticker may have helped too. Anyway, got lucky that time and now I don't leave firearms in vehicles. Only exception to this would be cased and tucked out of sight while I duck into a gas station on the way to go hunting or to the range.
