I know this has been hashed before, but can I use Ramshot's True Blue data in 38 special to load 357, or actually splitting the difference between the two? I have a lever rifle and I'm going to load lead bullets for it. Data for the 357 seems a little on the high side for lead in this rifle. OK for pistols, but I don't want to take the chance on the extra velocity out of the rifle and leading up the barrel. 38 load data seems a little slow. Here is an example, max load for the 38 in 158gr bullet is 5.1grs for 935fps. Minimum in 357 is 8.8grs for 1176fps. I was thinking of loading like 7.5grs of powder as a starting point for the rifle. Is there anything wrong with this plan?

I guess not many uses this powder so I gave it a shot. 7.5grs of powder under a 158gr bullet left absolutely no trace of leading in my Rossi lever gun. And all fired just fine. A very mild load. I even tried 4.7grs under a 148 wadcutter for my pistol. No leading there either. Another mild load. Just thought I'd let the gang know if anyone uses this powder.
