Hello handloaders - I have a set of RCBS 22-250 Remington dies, w/ a micrometer seater, a FL Resizer, and then an oddball die thrown in - my guess is that it's for neck resizing, but could one of you confirm this? It's marked around the collar with:

"Redding 22-250 B/NK P0"

Thanks again all!

Thanks amigos! On a side note - I've recently switched search engines, and I'm not having a very easy time getting the results I'm seeking... I guess that's why we all come here!

Totally off topic but I find it amusing that ANY theaded die maker claiming his dies are 'bench rest' grade amusing. The use of "competition" is misleading too, but true in that any dies ever made to produce ammo used in some kind of competition surely meets that qualification - I suppose. But that label would include every brand and grade of dies ever made! :)

Wow! Are we ever amused. Apparently Mr. Ranger would have us think that "Threaded" dies have no place in the world of extreme rifle accuracy. But should he stroll among competitors at a benchrest tournament he would be greatly amused to discover the large numbers of them using "threaded" dies for reloading the uber-accurate cartridges they shoot in competition. The attached photo is of only a few of the popular threaded dies used by serious bench competitors: At left is a Harrell's Precision sizing die. Center is a Stevens Accuracy sizing die in RFD press and at right is a Stevens Accuracy seating die. These and similar "threaded" dies are commonly used by the worlds' top rifle competitors and accuracy experts. I'm sure the makers of these threaded dies would d be happy and proud to claim they are "Bench rest" grade. Still amused?

Well, Mr. Off, I'm amused by YOU! While I'm sure you know what I meant you've gone to a pretty far extreme in order to 'prove' me wrong.

I certainly didn't write a treatise on the totality of BR shooting, thought it would be understood by most people they do often use threaded dies for FL sizing but not many of them do that very often. And the dies they use in their trusty Harrel's (or even their alum alloy body Partners) generally aren't what you normally pull off the shelf at your local gun store. Or do you do your own BR work with your trusty RCBS dies in a precision Rock Chucker?

Whatever it takes to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside ...

Stevens Accuracy seating die
I have a barrel on my Bench gun Col Stevens smithed some years ago. I did not realize he was making dies now, but he always did great work, so I bet they are top notch.

I started using a custom threaded bushing die sizer [FL(barely)], but stuck with my Niel Jones bushing style seater with my arbor press for seating bullets.
