Greetings, can anyone help me with this one? I have an 85 year old uncle who has a very nice 12 guage side by side double barrel shotgun. I am in law enforcement but I do not have a clue about this gun. I can see several etchings and they are as follows: "Acier Decarr Special" "Garanti Ppyroxylee Rpf" and "54/72". Can any one tell me the history, maker, circa, value, relevant websites, or other information about this gun? My uncle bought it many years ago and he is very curious about it. Thanks very much. Jerry

If you can get some pictures or other info on it, you'd probably get some solid info, but the markings you describe are French ("acier" is French for "steel"). If you can get some pictures of the markings and of the proof-marks (which will be on the bottoms of the chambers after you take the barrels off the receiver), I'm sure someone here will be able to help.
