When I was first looking at getting a 300AAC (aka 300 Blackout) I did some research to see if there were any incidents where someone loaded and fired a 300AAC in a 556 AR15. I found an article on ar15.com where a gentleman shared his, uh, mistake and newly broken rifle. So in an effort to prevent that from happening I decided to label my mags. An while I was labeling my CAA 300AAC mags I figured why not go ahead and fix my other problem. Which is, I go shooting with several of my friends quite often and we all have Pmags and Troy mags. It never fails that when I get home I am missing a few magazines or I have some magazines that just don't look right. So I labeled all my mags. One side of the 556 mags (which are only Pmags and Troy mags) has Roman numerals in the event of malfunctions or such and the other has a large encircled "V". For my 300AAC mags (which are only CAA mags) I just did "300" similar to the movie's writing. Well there you go, so in theory, no one should take my mags (unknowingly) and I minimize my chances of putting the wrong caliber magazines in the wrong gun.
