This one might be kinda tough. I have a Busse Combat Steelheart II that has had very little use that I might try to sell pretty soon. It sold originally for $300 about 5 years ago. Busse no longer makes this particular model. I was trying to put a price on it to sell outright and I am unsure what the resell on something like this would be. Anyone that could help me out? It's not that I want to make any money on it, just want to be fair to both sides. And hopefully it will go to someone that will have a use for it (I've gotten the Kukri bug and that is about all that I use for the heavy stuff now). Help me with your input, please.

As popular as Busse is and since they aren't made anymore I'd probably put it at $300. If it doesn't sell try $275 and so on. Good luck!

I did not know that Busse went out. Too bad. The man was definately one of a kind, you either love or hate him. Wonder what put the company under? He was securing gov't contracts left and right and was working on a folder the last time I talked to him. That was quite a while ago obviously. Well, I will definately take your advice Valk. Thanks for the info, too. Sad that the company is gone, excellent products.

Oh no - Busse is around but that model is not. :D He was at Blade anyway!

Alot of depends how much of a hurry you're in. If not I'd start at $300.

It depends upon how much "little use" it has seen.

Is the surface free of scratches? Is the edge unchipped? Are there any scuffs on the handle? Do you still have all the original materials that came with it? This determines what someone will pay.

If you bought it for $300 retail then you shouldn't take less than $200 for the knife in reasonable condition. Depending upon that condition you could get the $275 suggested.

The knife is in great condition. I don't know that you could chip the blade if you had to. No problems with the finish. Handle is as issued. The only thing that was sent with the knife was the sheath, it too in fantastic condition. I am truly impressed with what this knife can take. I have used it unlike any that I have owned, but it doesn't look like it has been used at all. I wish that I had the funds just to torture test a knife like this, that would be a good story. I am glad that Busse is still making knives, I am not aware of knives that are made like they are. He was even talking about an axe that he was prototyping (?). It would also be neat to see where he is with the folder concept, he advised that his locking mechanism would lift a Hummer off of the ground and hold it there for 10 min. in a standard car jack.

If you take a look on Blade Forums (and maybe USN), you can search through the old for sale threads for Steel Hearts and see what the going rate is. This will give you the best measure of the market.

This is why I always hate it when the prices get removed after the pieces sell.

Good advice from all. Thanks for the ideas, I believe I have a buyer already and it sounds like both parties are extremely happy with the deal.

I started a thread kinda feeling out a trade for an auto opener but got 0 response. I have a gentleman that has sent funds for the knife and upon receipt we'll see if he can post pics. I almost feel like it would be a tease putting pics up of a sold knife. Now I'm thinking of contacting Valk about that sub-hilt fighter that I always wanted.............
