Camp Swift east of Austin. This weekend May 18-20. Team day starts Friday with a four-man team competition. Saturday is individual 80 shot regional match. Sunday is a 50 shot National Match Course. Aggregate of the two matches is for the championship.

Hoping to shoot well and be competitive. I've shot well at this match but never won. Minumum goal is to make the Governors 20. Taking a new kid down to toss him in with the juniors. He lives around the block. His mom, a public school teacher, is letting him skip school Friday for this.

Nothing like three days of shooting rifles.

Oh, yeah, uh, you won too

Well Blackfork when you wrote that you hoped to shoot well and be competitive did you ever think that by Sunday afternoon you would be the new Texas Highpower Rifle State Champion? Did you think you could do it with an evil Service Rifle against all those Tubb guns and match rifles?

We knew you could do it even if you didnt. Congratulations! Now on to Camp Perry and then the State Service Rifle Championship in the Fall.

Winning the Ike Lee.

Lots of good shooters on the line. I was ahead by ONE point which is....the minimum. We basically started day two even and Jose Neira and I ended up tied with 487s. Very glad to have the extra point from the previous day.

Fun to shoot with that many folks. About 100 people on the line.

Pretty tough shooting at 600. The mirage actually reversed for about four minutes on the last relay when I was shooting. I waited it out.

I've won the Louisiana Championship twice but never in Texas. Certainly going to enjoy it.

I haven't really made friends with the current rifle and barrel I am shooting, but we are struggling along. It really hasn't sorted out at 300 rapid yet and I am not shooting very good scores. I did clean the 200 yard line on both days and shot well standing. (194X6 and 96X3) I think I am going to have my backup rifle rebarrelled before Perry. Would have liked to have had quarter minute sights in that wind at 300 and 600.
