At the Temple, Texas Gun Club later this month. Sept 29-30. Four relays in the morning: M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, 1903 Springfield, Vintage Military.

Ammo issued for USGI weapons.

30 shot course of fire @ 200 yards at standard highpower target bullseye.

Five sighters.
10 shots slow-fire prone.
10 shots rapid-fire prone in 70 seconds.
10 shots slow fire standing.

I've been going out and shooting my K31 prone to get a good zero and get in the groove. Shot a 99X3 prone rapid today at 200, twice. Going to use two mags for the rapids rather than stripper clip.

This is a very fun match where you can shoot your old guns a LOT. Last year we had folks who shot morning and afternoon relays with all four guns, both days!

Only your first score counts toward the championships. Last year I was second in the Garand and M1 carbine matches and won the Vintage rifle. My 1903A3 sight broke on day one and the extracter on day two. This year it ought to be geared up and ready to go.

Of course it's the same weekend as the Oklahoma State Pistol match in OKC. :uhoh:

Looks like fun, but my .308 M1 Garand would probably not be legal.

Are you going to make the Pistol Regional in Wichita Falls so you can shoot your last Leg match of the year? Should be a good turnout. I'm hoping there's enough shooters for two legs. The Texas Junior team will be there and I'm sure at least two of them will want to shoot the Leg match.

Shot out on pistol Legs

Shot my four pistol legs for the year: Panola, Dallas, Camp Perry, Davis, Ok. Just practicing now. And trying to find a revolver/158gr lead roundnose combinations that will actually shoot.

Great match down there in Temple. I went out and shot my K31 and a Swede M38 today. All prone at 200 wth a sling on at the NRA 200 yard target center. The K31 shot a 99X4 starting with a cold barrel. It's zeroed. First shot cut the 200 yard X ring line at 2:00. The M38 has some left wind on and the prone position is really different than the K31. I killed two deer with it last year and love it, but I think I might shoot the K31. My impression is that the ammo isn't as good. I shot Federal ammo with Hornady 140 softpoints.

Need a mauser front sight pusher for Swede. It's just shooting the edge of the 200 yard 9-10 ring at 9:00. Nice elevation control with that later sight elevation adjustment the Swedes put in. Maybe I need to bite the bullet and get some dies and see what Matchking comes in 6.5.

Found a stripper clip that feeds the Swede. The ammo has a bigger case head than 30-06 so I can't use those.
