Ok, let me start with this: I work in a business casual environment. Slacks or khakis and button down collar or polo shirt. Really not any way to wear a concealment garment.

So, I am thinking the only way to do this is with a tuckable. I know about the loss of a second or two, but having the gun is better than leaving it at home. I would like any and all input (boy am I asking for it!) about the tuckable holsters that are out on the market. The ones I am thinking about are:

Milt Sparks' VersaMax 2 with Kydex Clips (where I am leaning right now)
Fist #22
Comp-TAC Shirt Tucker

I am sure there are others, so please let me know about those as well. I am partial to leather, but haven't ruled out Kydex. Having to wear a belt at all times is not an issue as when I am not business casual I am usually in jeans or something I can wear a belt with.

TIA!!

Tucker Gunleather makes a very nice Tuckable IWB callrd the Texas Heritage. They also have the special clips that aren't as noticeable. And you'll get it WAY sooner than the Milt Sparks (does Milt still have an 8 week wait period?) I am away from my normal machine, but I believe the link to be http://www.tuckergunleather.com. I got one for my Steyr and it has been wonderful

Thanks!!

F4GIB - I have heard lots about Comp-Tac, but my concern is having Kydex next to me. I tend to sweat just looking at a picture of the sun when I am standing with the freezer open, so plastic next to me seems hot and sweaty. How does it work in that sense for you?

JCM298 - I'll give it a look.

synoptic - I have heard of them, but didn't look into it. I'll have to now!! I'll check out the website and see what they've got.

Keep the thoughts coming. ALL input is good, as I don't want to build my own "used once" holster collection!!! :banghead:

THANKS!!

i've used both kydex and leather and i sweat like a pig. kydex is much more comfy, doesn't stick to me like leather. i use a comp-tac shirt tucker with my kahr p40 everyday. saddlebum

Hint: wear an undershirt. Tee shirt or wife beater style of tee shirt. Works for me. I wear a Comp-Tac Undercover Pro.

I tend to perspire too

For me Kydex is a really okay way to go. I can just take a damp cloth and clean it off when I take it off. Leather, for me, tends to absorb the sweat and over time that is not good for a leather holster. The suggestion to wear a light T-shirt is really a good one. It is what I do when I wear leather. Good shooting;)

The VM-2 is worth the price and the wait. I don't use the tuckable clips much on mine, but it's an awesome holster. It will not end up collecting dust in a box.

Tucker Texas Heritage

holds a G22 under my shirt right now. Comfy, secure, discreet. Great, personal service. Worth every penny. Wore it all summer, sometimes without a tshirt, with no problems.

I recommend the Tucker Texas Heritage as well. I got an over-the-belt clip for the front and a J-clip for the back. Then I epoxyed a holder for by BlackBerry (like a pager or cell phone or PDA) to the front clip. Serves dual purpose and tends to disguise the whole rig when tucked.

I have both a Comp-Tac Undercover and a Shirt Tucker. If I'm wearing a pullover I prefer the Undercover ( I carry a P229) but if the weather is too warm or I can't go shirt-tail out I use the ST. I'm not that wild about the ST from a comfort standpoint because it bites me a bit, but I've never been made except by the wife who knows what the little black clip means.

I'm seriously considering trading up from the ST to a CTAC from Comp-Tac to see if it stays in one place better. The ST walks around a bit on my belt with the rear-clip only attachment point.

I don't have any problems with perspiration with the plastic stuff. The Tucker Texas Heritage does look like a valid possibility to me, though.

I've tried a Galco Royal Guard but it just doesn't feel real secure with my Sig. Maybe I should give it another try, but I've yet to find something really as concealable as what I'm using now except for a Pager Pal (which I sometimes use...yeah, I know).

Regards,
Rabbit.

I have a VM2 for a Springfield Ultra Compact it is an incredible holster! It gets my vote !
