I've been waiting for this shoe to drop.
I cannot provide a link to this Wall Street Journal article since it's a paid subscription. Here's a very short clip which highlights the point of my post:
"A dozen survivors of the January shooting rampage in Tucson, Ariz., that severely wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords lobbied federal lawmakers Tuesday to broaden federal background checks on potential gun owners."
Needless to mention Mayor Bloomberg is involved in the discussions.
And here's Chucky:
"It's entirely possible Jared Loughner might not have bought the Glock" if his admission of drug use to the Army or mental-health problems were known, said New York Sen. Chuck Schumer, a Democrat, who led the subcommittee hearing. "I don't want there to be any more what-ifs."
Frankly, I would have been amazed if this had not been the outcome. Brady II? Who knows.
